But that's some 1984 shit right there,

Trust me that's not the only "1984" thing going on round here. ;)

Working out which path to take is one of the hardest choices to make

I agree 100% OLP. I’m incredibly lucky because I’ve got three paths to choose from but I just can’t make my mind up which one I wish to take. They’re all paths I could really succeed at as well; one is important to me personally, the other is politics (so it’s pretty important on a European level) and the third involves me buying a farm and shutting myself off to the outside world and all their crap. The first one is the path I want to take but something is drawing me to the second one as well...I’m split between my head and my heart.

...what the hell does that mean...

especially with the winking face...

It’s not that difficult really. “1984†is a book about three totalitarian governments ruling the world, a Big Brother society and doing things as they please…basically what I was saying is that “forcing people to live somewhere†(as you said) isn’t the only 1984 thing going on here. :)

darktruth, if you think that 1984 is alive and well in the uk, you should live here in the states... i cant go a single day without seeing something that confirms my choice to prepare for an up and coming P.A.W. situation.
While I do live technically inside city limits, I'm on the outskirts, and the city is thriving in spite of the governmental BS it has had to endure. Either way, I provide MOST of my own electricity, and by the end of summer, I'll provide all of it, plus more. I don't use gas, I grow a large portion of my own food, and I've got a food pantry stockpile large enough to provide for a group of 8 for 6 months without having to ration. I have weapons, first aid supplies, and clean water on supply for cooking and cleaning, and a rainwater cistern and purifier to provide more.
Was it easy to do all of this, no, but once i started down this path, i knew i could not return. Furthermore, it was definitely easier then i thought it would be, and with each step i work more towards setting up MY OWN infrastructure so when it does happen, and believe me it will, I will be prepared.

I always find it kind of funny that people think the US is worse. I think it’s because our government does things quieter than in the US. Somehow they’ve managed to convince people we have no Bill of Rights to the extent where one of the political parties actually goes about telling us we need one, they ignore the Magna Carta whenever they can and then they get other entities (the EC) to do things they know they can’t.

Our government are also rather cruel because they openly flaunt this in our face such as the EU which was a Nazi idea and is now being ran in the same way the USSR was ran; a better 1984 example is some twat in the old government saying that the state should be in charged of parenting kids for their “safety”…it’s never good when ministers come out with that kind of crap.

Your very lucky to be bright enough to have all that Sparrow, I have a few friends in the states who are doing the same. :D

Edit: The US and UK are on the same line but at diffrent ends comeing towards the same spot.
