I can't afford to live in non-council property. I could just barely manage to afford a cheap decent place, but not without a deposit of at least £900 first, which will take ages to save up

I could apply for a transfer to another council property, but the best I can hope for is someplace equally bad, it's either that or worse. You are allowed to refuse 3 properties before they take you off the housing application list, but being as I was still living with my ex partner 6 months after splitting up with him, and he and his family were on the verge of packing all my stuff up and throwing it into the street, I didn't really have much choice of where to go

OLP, yes that was meant as a joke. Sorry if it didn't come across. A lot of my humor is fairly dry. You seem to get so much crap from your neighbors that I was suggesting that a war zone might be more soothing. Sigh. Humor FAIL.
