You've never cleaned out some of the systems I did last time I did it handcuff... after a few of those, my hands were masses of cuts and nicks, my back ached and had bruises all over, and I was in possession of a good deal more cash for having done that work.
Li'l puppy (hope ya don't mind that nick) least you don't get it my way, I don't burn, I go slightly red, then my skin peels. I look like a molting snake when that happens.

Rue: I'm certain the pits I cleaned were easier than yours. It was a small kitchen and the pit wasn't big. I remember the rivets, but there wasn't enough to be much of a problem. We also switched off on cleaning it. I had to clean it 2 to 3 times a week. It wasn't long before I transferred to running/cleaning the conveyor belt style dishwasher. I preferred that over grease.

OLP: sorry to hear about your sunburn :-( Hopefully it goes away fast. Those are no fun. Keep sunblock on from now on :-)

I don't get sunburnt easy, but I hate hot weather. I will sweat a lot when its only 85 degrees. I prefer the cold. Luckily for me I work in a cooler that's kept at a very nice 40degrees. Everyone else is wearing 3 shirts a sweater and a jacket. I wear a thermal undershirt and a T-shirt. This has gotten me the nickname Penguin which is funny since that's been my favorite animal for years.

/end rambling

Maybe I'm just weird, but I liked the grease. Alright, it's not exactly the best stuff to like, but put a cap on, some overalls, and some footwear you don't mind getting slightly mucky, and that's an end to it, when I did it before, I was actually at my most happy with my work when I was in ducting with a scraper to pull the grease off, a box to put it in, and ducting just big enough for me.
Sounds odd, but there you go.
Did one ducting system once on Guernsey (The channel islands, in case anyone's wondering and doesn't know) which I could actually sit in quite comfortably. When it came to take a quick break, I ended up having a cuppa tea while sat in the ducting, because it was easier than hauling myself out through the... rather small opening I'd squeezed in by.
Yup, I'm guessing by now I come accross as a completly weird sounding person.
But hey, where's the fun in being normal? That's what we're all here for, isn't it?

Rue: having fun at work is hard to do sometimes. Glad you found it then! I didn't like it, I preferred the dishwasher as it was a complex machine that needs taken apart to clean. I love fixing mechanical things and working with hard to fix machines. Once I master one I try to move on and master another. I find that challenge to be my fun at work. I'm also weird! Normal people scare me O_O

KittenGrey: Herro! *waves* How are you?
