I am about to give up soda. I gave up caffeine because my stomach is sensitive. I love my starbucks though :-( I drink mainly water, apple juice and Sunny D. Lots of vitamin C helps me to not get sick. I work 45+hrs a week in a 40 degree cooler. I am working on cutting out chocolate right now. That's the hardest part since the wife always has some around.

I want to lose weight for two people. Me and my wife. The only two people that matter when it comes to my weight.

Maybe we should turn all this talk into a seperate diet thread :D

Just come back from another walk now. I was wearing army boots this time, so my feet are nowhere near as sore as they have been :)

I've worked out a plan; 2 days of long walks, then a day's rest, repeating that same pattern constantly. I wanted to walk every day, but I don't think my feet are going to be able to handle it :(

A thought occurred to me last night...what happens on reaching the point where I am happy with my inch loss and don't want to take it any further? :( As far as I can tell, if I give it up at that point, all the flab will pile back on, but if I continue, I will lose more than I want to :(

The weird thing is, it's not my weight that's a problem. It's my shape I want to change. The heaviest I have ever been is a little less than 9 stone. I'm usually about 8.5 stone, which I think would actually make me underweight, if anything. It's just that my belly has, over the years, taken on the shape of that of a fairly obviously pregnant woman, and I want it to be flat, not curved. That's why I'm constantly referring to inch loss, rather than weight loss, just incase anyone was wondering :)

Spot reduction?

I'm grilling bacon and sausages at the moment, to make a pasta meal later. Will have a few days of eating pasta now, because I'm starting to get a bit bored of sweet potatoes :D

Off out for another powerwalk in a little while...our 'summer' seems to have returned, and it's a bank holiday today, so I'd much rather be riding to the coast on the back of a motorbike :(

Yes, there's a thing. There have been one or two occasions where I have thought about my walks, and really haven't wanted to do them, but have gone anyway. Even when it's been raining. I hope that can be considered something to be proud of...
