Well, what I find is the best for working out is Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, I work out doing weights and the such for 1 hour and a half, and then I run 40 minutes to an hour. Making sure to keep my heart rate where it should be (you can figure that out pretty easy). On Friday, I go to the gym or the park (depending on the weather) and basically do extreme cardio, followed by an hour long run.I run every day except Sunday, and occasionally one other day during the week, if I'm either really sore, or just too beat up or tired, and instead of running I'll swim. That keeps me in great shape, though if you have have physical problems, the best thing to do is work up to it, my dad is in his early 70's and what he does is that he swims 3 times a week. He is an investment banker, so his days are really busy, but I've been helping him with his businesses so that makes it easier for him to allow a few hours during the week to swim. If you swim a mile or at least as much as you can, until you work up your strength to be able to swim a mile, you'll slowly get stronger and feel better. Swimming makes you feel so much better. Hope that helps, I'm not familiar working out with physical ailments, but if you have any questions in terms of working out, without regards to physical ailments (not including common ones, in terms of ailments, and things like yoga for working out) I'll be glad to help you to the best of my abilities.

My regimen at the moment is an hour of weights 3x a week, and now that the weather is warm, biking regularly for cardio. My goal is to do 45 bike rides between now and the end of August. I live right next to a great bike path, so biking is really convenient. I'm gonna meet with a personal trainer next week and review my workout and work with her over the summer to build muscle mass.

I have thought about taking a bottle with me, as I get parched partway through the walk, but unfortunately I suffer from a weird, undiagnosed problem where even just a couple of sips of liquid results in me needing to use the toilet at least 5 times over the next hour

Half the time, all that comes out is a mere trickle, if that, and I'll know beforehand that this is all it will be, but I will still have to go because if I don't, I will feel like I'm about to pee myself. That's how bad at is  :( I've been to countless doctors, but none of them can identify the problem

Its sounds like a urinary tract infection. How long has it been going on for? For urinary problems, cranberry juice/pills do wonders.

I'm on some new pills for that now. I've been tested by a number of doctors who have been unable to find any infection or any other abnormality. Also, while I'm on the pills, the problem clears up, but as soon as I've finished the prescribed course, it flares up again

It looks like it will finally be getting fixed though; if it doesn't clear up this time, I will be getting referred to a specialist. And being as I've suffered with this problem for over 6 years now, that was a real joy to hear.

Yeah, I had a couple of pretty indulgent breakfasts this weekend. so I'm a bit worried about what the scale will say.

Martello: the only real running issue in this thread is that OLP is trying to take a few inches off her waist by walking a lot and doing some other exercises, but she's got a toe infection that's slowing her done.

Ugh. I'm sorry, OLP. That sucks. I have a boy who's had a bladder infection for about two weeks and is still struggle with it. Are you seeing real improvement even though it's not gone? You might ask your doctor about putting you on a different antibiotic. Sometimes the first one isn't enough. That happened to me once.

I'm meeting a personal trainer on Wed. I'm looking forward to that. I want to start putting some muscle on my upper body.
