imho, if your definition of cheating is going outside of whatever the relationship is without the knowledge of the other person, then i would deal with it the same way as i would in any vanilla relationship.

With no more information than is given, I'd say the master has lost control. It would be time for some serious introspection - why was control lost, and for things to get this far, why was it not noticed until now?

I've seen some master/slave dynamics where the slave did anything they felt they could get away with, and were punished accordingly. In this case, "cheating" would be just another misbehavior.

The use of the word "cheating" implies an otherwise-obedient slave, where this kind of behavior would indicate a serious problem on both sides.

What I see is a failure to communicate. Obviously something went wrong and it wasn't talked about, or someone saw the relationship differently and it wasn't discussed. Either way, a breakdown in the lines of communication occurred and that makes the dom just as to blame as the sub. I don't know why people seem to overlook communication so much....

Lots of good thoughts in response. Only thing I might add is the thrill of it all for the slave. There are some that can't help but pursue cheating and, sometimes more importantly, the thrill of getting caught. For whatever reason, it's something that should be dealt with completely before moving on....

I agree that its the same as in any relationship. Cheating is cheating and when someone cheats theyre obviously not being fulfilled in their relationship whether thats boredom or something else. In my opinion if someone cheats the relationship is over.
