Cast: Brendan
Just back from a trip to see Brendan who asked us to visit him and help him out with some cash for a new update. He's been out in the real world again for six weeks no hostel curfew now but a private rent with new housemates and a real job working with his hands. The hardest obstacle is avoiding alcohol for another ten months (when his term officially ends) to avoid setting off his ankle tag and a return to incarceration. This has to be one of the toughest challenges to all prisoners out on license. This is the crucial point where so many ex-prisoners crack how is a working man supposed to avoid drinking a cold beer after a hard day's work? What about Friday nights? What about Saturday nights?! For that reason Brendan has chosen to live miles away from his old stomping ground, his mates and all the familiar temptations of the past but it's getting harder by the day. We made a point of asking Brendan if our camera and our encouraging his revelations are a help or a hinderance to his rehabilitation and he was adamant that he loves the attention, the photography and sharing his story with us. We are very concerned about him though. Cont'd in members area...
