I'm sorry to hear about your shoudler OLP.

Last May I fractured my left ankle AND my right foot at the same time. You read that right - both feet. At. The. Same. Time. lol. I'm just that damn special. I also was never sent to physical therapy to help strengthen and regain full use of them. This last Jan I have just started being able to balance myself on one foot and stand on my tip toes. So every now and then (and when the weather changes) one or both will act up and hurt:(

I have no excuse. I became angry about a certain co worker not doing their job, resulting in me doing it for them. So I ened up punching a box of frozen french bread loafs (you know the kind you have to thaw out and put into a proofer to rise then bake) with all of my might.

hum, a hot bath twice a day? I might have to try that next time my hand/feet are hurting. I'm sure it would be healthier than wanting to take 1600 mg of ibuprofen.

Ceilidh, if you haven't gotten physical therapy on your feet, you should do so if you have it covered by insurance. My mother broke her foot when she was in college back in the early 50s, and the problems caused by it have slowed undermined her ability to walk. She's 78 now, and has a great deal of trouble with stairs. Part of the problem is that she learned an odd way to walk that compensated for the problem in her foot but which gradually caused all sorts of other problems. So get your feet looked at now to avoid possible problems later in life.

Sebastian, thank you for the advice and warning.

Hum, "..all sorts of other problems," I wonder if my ankles might have anything to do with the reason my leg was hurting a couple of days ago? I guess it kind of felt like the pain I usually experience in my ankle traveled up into my calf. Or was slightly connected? I can't exactly remember other than it hurt enough for me to consider meds.

I'll try to go see a doctor as soon as I can.

Ceilidh, the problem is that when you injure a foot, you change your walk to favor the injured foot. That takes pressure off the injured foot, but it moves the pressure to some other body part, like your other foot, or your knee or hip. Eventually the part that is overcompensating starts to develop problems because it's doing too much work. In my mom's case, she learned to swing one leg out to the side to put less pressure on her bad foot, but it eroded the muscles she needs for balance, and now she is very unsteady on stairs. So talk to a physical therapist about unlearning whatever bad habits you've picked up to compensate.
