Dolly gives wonderful reactions while I’m beating her thighs with belt, bat, boot, and fist. I think it’s worth pointing out how what a good job she does at following little safety directions I give her like “keep your hands out of the way of the bat.” Staying mindful of stuff like that when you’re terrified and something hurts can be both difficult and a calming thing to focus on, weirdly.
