try out silicone it's the best idea but i'm still latex fan

We got this latex penis gag: http://www.extremerestraints.com/mouth-gags_22/silicone-penis-gag_629.html, that my wife tried wearing and complained that it was difficult, probably because it is hard and maybe its diameter too large. We also have a hood with a rubber penis gag that seems to be about the same size but is a bit softer. She hasn't tried it yet -- hopefully soon. But I am wondering if she can get used to the latex gag or we need to get something smaller in diameter which I think would be kind of hard to find. Any suggestions?
