This may be a little rough, I don't exactly know how to word it. My girl and I have based our Dom-sub relationship on the pack relationship of wolves. She has the role of Alpha and I am the omega. I love her using that as my pet name and she enjoys it too. We are not truly about punishment, simply sub-servience. I do as she wishes at all times and she rewards me with pleasure and affection. Is anyone else out there like this?

That's how I want to be, her loyal servant for whatever she needs. At least when in the bedroom, I try and serve her as best I can in everyday life.

That sounds like a very beautiful relationship, and I would agree that punishment and pain are not really necessary for the exercise of subservience. Subservience, or obedience, are the essence of love imo and I should wish some woman to inspire me with such devotion.

But also I do enjoy my pain and I would always add that to the picture if my partner was congenial to the idea.

I mostly serve my master. Our relationship is not about pain, but about me being his slave and servant. Punishments are rare, and usually mild, given only to trigger my master's favourite response, i.e. me begging for mercy.

We normally have a Master/pet style as well. Ironically I was thinking about just this subject. I know of people doing the classic Master/slave style and the Master/pet style, but it made me wonder how many other styles there are... Drill sergeant perhaps?
